THE BEST FOODS FOR WEIGHT LOSS (AND THE WORST!)

Choosing the best foods for weight loss may seem easy, but in reality, a lot of foods people think are good for weight loss really aren’t, while some weight loss foods get overlooked. Here are two of my favorite foods for weight loss and two of my least favorite foods, with some healthier alternatives suggested:

Eat These:

Eggs: It can be tricky to make sure you are getting enough protein on a low-calorie plan. But there is one weight loss food that fits the bill perfectly eggs! Add some chopped hard-boiled egg to a salad, stir an egg into a broth-based soup, or start your day with a low-fat omelet, and you’ll enjoy a tasty meal that satisfies.

Seaweed Salad: If you don’t eat much Japanese cuisine, you may have never encountered seaweed salad but let me assure you, it’s worth seeking out! A two-ounce serving has just 70 calories and is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Once you try it, chances are it will become one of your new weight-loss food favorites!

Not These:

Supermarket Diet Dinners: It may seem simpler to rely on frozen supermarket diet dinners when you are trying to lose weight. But many times these highly processed meals with too much salt and artificial ingredients are simply smaller portions of foods that really aren’t that good for you. Chances are they will leave you feeling both hungry and unsatisfied.

Diet Drinks: Don’t make the mistake of turning to artificially sweetened beverages as your drink of choice when trying to lose weight. While they may not contain many calories, they are loaded with artificial colors, flavors, and other additives. Plus some studies have linked them to increased hunger and cravings, not something you need when you are trying to lose weight. Make plain old water or unsweetened iced or hot green tea your diet drinks of choice, instead.

In short, some of the best foods for weight loss don’t come with fancy labels or bright packages, while inferior picks might be marketed to the hilt. Don’t fall for the hype, and you’ll be well on your way toward choosing the right weight-loss foods
