Dr. John Chuback is a graduate of New Jersey Medical School. He completed a five year surgical residency at Monmouth Medical Center and Beth Israel Hospital in Newark. His general surgical training included significant clinical rotations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. These experiences give the doctor extensive training regarding nutritional and dietary management of critically ill and injured patients. Of course this was based on an extreme understanding of nutrition in the normal individual.
Next, Dr. Chuback went onto complete a 2 year residency in cardiovascular surgery and gained extensive knowledge in the relationship between diet, cardiovascular disease, obesity and longevity. With this background as a board certified general and cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Chuback has a rare understanding of the interplay between weight, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and overall health.
Dr. Chuback has also trained directly under Dr. Michael Kaplan, founder of the Center for Medical Weight Loss, and nationally recognized authority on Bariatric Medicine. Dr. Kaplan has numerous published research articles in the scientific literature, and is considered a trail-blazer in the contemporary approach to good health through proper weight management.
