I weighed 95 pounds before I became pregnant with my two children. Then I gained more than 80 pounds with both pregnancies. Though my children are now six and four, I tried everything and I could not keep myself motivated to get back to a comfortable weight. I was not fitting into the clothes that I was used to wearing.
I tried a lot of different weight loss regimens but nothing motivated me to follow through. Finally I was referred to The Center for Medical Weight Loss (CMWL) by a doctor who knew a lot about the program.

I started with CMWL in May 2011 and did a total of 12 weeks on the CMWL weight loss plan with Dr. Giannakopoulos (“Dr. G”). We had parties and barbecues every night at my house, so needless to say, it was hard to stay 100 percent strict – but I did it.
I think aside from the CMWL program itself, your doctor plays a very important role in helping you to lose weight. In my case, I feel like Dr. G has a very unique way of motivating you and making you aware of the whole picture. Losing weight is like a puzzle, and it’s your choice to put all the pieces together. He made me understand how to implement that and at the same time he educated me about eating habits, calories, and more.
Benefits of Losing Weight
I would have to say the best part about losing weight has been self-confidence; it comes into play with everything you do, at least for me. Also, going into a store after having gone from a size 12 to a size 4 to 6!
I have a very sensitive stomach and before I lost the weight, every time I ate I got a stomach ache. Being on this diet was like a dream come true. I had no stomach pain at all!
I still want to lose a little bit more weight. This time around I am going to keep buying the shakes and bars but adding more meals and running at least four to five times a week. So far it has worked. I have kept the weight off for eight months now, and just went back on the CMWL plan and already lost 3 to 4 more pounds.
